Exhibition Remember September 1944
September 2009 has been a very important month for our foundation. A month in which many municipalities celebrated their liberation. A special year, because it’s been 65 years since we’ve been liberated.
The foundation wanted to make this a big thing so we held two exhibitions and revealed a new monument. The exhibitions were dedicated to the liberation of Son and Mook during operation Market Garden in September 1944.
The grand opening in Son was supported by an enormous Eagle, which flew in the keys to our exhibition. Ken Wooly, a British veteran who was stationed in Son during the war, took the honor of opening the exhibition.
Before the exhibition in Mook opened, the foundation revealed a new monument at town hall in Mook. The monument was revealed by Ray Fary, an American veteran who fought in the fecinity of Mook during the war.
The exhibitions were a great success and we had the honor having over 3000 visitors. We would like to thank everyone who made our exhibitions a great success!
Here you will find an photo impression of both exhibitions.
